In avalanches and emergencies or if you get lost in nature, RECCO rescue reflectors make you locatable for organized rescue teams searching with RECCO detectors.

locatable if you are involved in an avalanche accident or get lost in nature. Wearing equipment equipped with RECCO reflectors allows professional rescuers to locate you with RECCO detectors. The technology consists of two parts: The detector emits a directed radar signal that works like the beam of a flashlight. Once the signal beam hits the RECCO reflector, the signal is reflected back and guides the rescuer to your location.

The RECCO handheld detectors, first introduced in 1983, are now used worldwide by mountain rescuers as a standard tool for avalanche rescue and are used in more than 800 ski resorts and mountain rescue organizations in 27 countries.

The recently introduced RECCO SAR helicopter detector was developed to cover large areas
to quickly search for missing persons in nature.

It has already been deployed at several locations in the Alps, North America, and Scandinavia and is operational there. The goal is to increase coverage worldwide and continuously add more countries and regions to the list.

For the user, the RECCO reflector offers a simple solution to always be findable.

The reflector is a small passive transponder that
weighs less than four grams.

It is permanently attached at the factory to clothing and equipment that are unlikely to be torn off in the event of an avalanche or other accident. It is a device without a power supply, meaning it never needs to be turned on, never loses signal strength, and requires no batteries to function. It is maintenance-free and has an almost unlimited lifespan. The RECCO reflector allows rescuers to locate you in the event of an avalanche accident or if you get lost in the outdoors using RECCO detectors. RECCO reflectors require no power and no activation to work. For optimal performance, multiple reflectors are recommended. RECCO detectors are used by rescue teams worldwide.
