RECCO technology makes you a professional rescue worker
can be found if you are involved in an avalanche accident or get lost in nature. Wearing equipment equipped with RECCO reflectors allows professional rescuers to locate you using RECCO detectors. The technology consists of two parts: The detector emits a directional radar signal that works like a flashlight beam. As soon as the beam of the signal hits the RECCO reflector, the signal is reflected back and guides the rescuer to your location.
First introduced in 1983, RECCO handheld detectors are now used by mountain rescuers worldwide as a standard avalanche rescue tool and are used in more than 800 ski resorts and mountain rescue organizations in 27 countries.
The recently launched RECCO-SAR helicopter detector is designed to cover large areas
to quickly search for missing people in nature.
It has already been deployed at several locations in the Alps, North America and Scandinavia and is ready for use there. The goal is to increase coverage worldwide and continually add more countries and territories to the list.

For the user, the RECCO reflector offers a simple solution to always be found.
The reflector is a small passive transponder that
weighs less than four grams.
It is permanently attached at the factory to clothing and equipment that is unlikely to be torn off in the event of an avalanche or other accident. This is a device without a power supply, i.e. h. it never needs to be turned on, never loses signal strength, and requires no batteries to function. It is maintenance-free and has a virtually unlimited lifespan. The RECCO reflector allows rescue teams to locate you using RECCO detectors in the event of an avalanche accident or if you are lost in nature. RECCO reflectors require no energy or activation to function. Multiple reflectors are recommended for optimal performance. RECCO detectors are used by rescue teams worldwide.
